Samsung will this week release the world’s first curved UHD TV. The technological phenomenon goes on sale in the US with a $120,000 price tag and the promise of being able to deliver the most captivating and engaging televisual experience.

The revolutionary television has a 105 inch curved screen and offers its buyers the latest in ultra-high-definition technology, up to four times sharper than current HD television sets. The curved UHD TV boasts a 5,120 x 2,160 resolution, 11 million pixels, Samsung’s Smart TV platform, and the ability to transform the set into four screens via the company’s Quad Screen Multi-Link. With each purchase, Samsung will also send a group of field engineers to the homes of customers who purchase the $120,000 set. They will demonstrate the features of the TV and optimize it for the room and setting.

While the price may seem extortionate to many despite all of the great features the television offers, last year’s Samsung launch of an even larger albeit flat-screen UHDTV, the 110-inch UN110S9, complete with a $150,000 price tag, sold 10 units in its first 24 hours alone.

Executive vice president of Samsung Electronics America, Joe Stinziano, proudly claimed “we continue to set the bar as the UHD market leader by delivering the best picture quality, design and most immersive viewing experiences in home entertainment. The 105-inch Curved UHD TV features the most advanced technology and design, a massive movie-theater style UHD screen and a curve that creates the ultimate cinematic experience.”
