The most glamorous and most popular in the world of fashion-shows, the Victoria’s Secret fashion extravaganza will be held in London for the first time.
The American brand recently announced that the next show will be held in December at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre where, as always, a dozen prominent models will attend to reveal the latest offerings from the underwear brand. A live broadcast of the show will also be held in 192 countries.
The brand hosted a show outside of America only once – during the Cannes Film Festival in 2000. But this does not mean that other countries did not fight to get the right to host the show. President and Chief Marketing Officer of the European branch of the company said that he promoted the idea of the show in London in 1998, but he also agrees that now it’s the “right time” for the event to finally take place. Today England has six Victoria’s Secret stores, as well as plans to open several more.
Despite the fact that the names of the models who will participate in the show are as yet unknown, it is already rumored that the British model Cara Delevin was asked “to leave a day in the diary.” A company representative said that “Cara has already participated in the last two shows and was happy at the idea to take part in the upcoming show.”
Victoria’s Secret extravaganza will be orchestrated by Hamish Hamilton, who previously directed the telecast discoveries of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London. The show will be one of the last events held in Earl’s Court before the centre is demolished next year.
