The world of yachts is a fascinating one that is constantly changing and developing. Yachts are always at the forefront of design with regular technological updates. Likewise the yachting community is a vibrant one. New and exciting events follow seamlessly one after the other throughout the year. Where there is news to be had in the yachting industry, The Islander is never far away.

The Islander was originally founded in 1997 in Palma de Mallorca as a newsletter targeted at the nautical industry. Today, The Islander, owned and managed by Simon Relph, has established itself as the western Mediterranean’s only monthly anglophone publication dedicated to yachting. While company headquarters continue to be based in Palma, The Islander is now released as an 80 page, full colour, high quality magazine. Affectionately known by many yacht industry experts as ‘The Bible’, The Islander is dedicated to providing the latest yachting news and information including modern and classic yacht regatta reports, marine conservation, yacht technology, financial advice, diving safety and more.

Besides a widespread online presence on the official website and on various social media channels including Facebook and Twitter, The Islander also distributes more than 6,000 copies per release throughout the western Mediterranean including major yacht exhibitions, shows and events such as:

  • The Palma Boat Show
  • The Palma Vela Regatta
  • The Superyacht Cup, Palma
  • The Trofeo Conde de Barcelona
  • The Oyster Regatta
  • The Panerai Classics Regatta Mahon
