Karl Scheufele, owner of the luxury Swedish company Chopard joined the Forbes list of billionaires this month.
Thanks to the efforts of Scheufele, Chopard has become one of the most popular luxury brands in the world. Founded in 1860 by Louis Ulysse Chopard in the small village of Sonvilier, Switzerland, the family run business was owned by them for three generations. Scheufele acquired the business in 1963 and has seen the company grow to own over 100 boutiques worldwide.
Scheufele and his wife are still active in the firm along with their children who manage day to day operations.The network of boutiques from the luxury watch company had an estimated revenue of $1.7 billion in 2013.
In an interview in 2013, Karl Scheufele said “Chopard stands for creativity and innovation but also history, craftsmanship and a family tradition.”
